Hospital Based: Compassionate Companions - Palliative Care Volunteer Training: Create a cadre of specially trained volunteers to provide additional support for individuals facing serious illness. Training on presence, listening and visiting someone at the end stage of illness
Hospice: Compassionate Companions Volunteer Training: Training for volunteers on presence, listening, and visiting someone at the end stage of illness.
Volunteer Retention and Service Commitment: Create a community of individuals dedicated to each other as well as to the organization. Improve volunteer service longevity. Implement and integrate program components to engage and enhance sense of mission, dedication and belonging.
Full Program Design & Implementation: Define the role of the volunteer; screening and interviewing candidates; training, supervision and support of the volunteer.
Program Tune-Up & Consultation: Identify and address challenges: to include retention, recruitment, and training.
